Description
There are a number of ways to volunteer as a college student:
- Start your own SVP society in the college and engage in direct contact activities such as Street Outreach (working with the homeless); homework clubs' clubs for the elderly and people with disabilities; flat decorating.
- Fundraise through sleepouts, bake sales, and any other inventive and fund idea you can think of.
- Organise a Social Justice club and run workshops, book clubs, and debates on contemporary social justice issues

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position
which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Garda Vetting is required for all direct-contact activities such as Street Outreach; homework clubs and activities that involve working with vulnerable adults. Training is also required for these activities and will be supported by SVP. SVP will also facilitate the Garda Vetting.
There is no vetting required for non-direct contacts such as fundraising, campaigning, social justice advocacy, and education.
Skills required for this role:
A concern for those in need. A desire to act. Patience, kindness and compassion.
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
