ATU Green Pantry Donegal Society
Donegal
About Us:Food bank for students
We aim to create a campus-wide initiative to reduce food waste while fostering sustainability and community spirit.
By partnering with FoodCloud and local supermarkets in Letterkenny, the pantry will collect surplus food, including items with damaged packaging, end-of-line products, and food nearing its sell-by or best-before dates. This food will be distributed to ATU students and staff, emphasising environmental responsibility and reducing food waste.
This initiative promotes sustainability and strengthens the university's green credentials, serving as a practical example of a circular food economy in action.
Is training provided?:Yes
