Description

Working as part of a team, the Assessment and Support Interns aim is to support participants, who are neurodivergent, to participate in social and interest groups while also having the opportunity to shadow employment readiness groups prepare them for full-time employment or student internship employment placements. 

The ideal volunteer would be able to build supportive, empowering relationship with individuals or groups, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, work well independently and as part of a team, and show strong organisational and time management skills.

We encourage those with experience working with neurodivergent people, a background in psychology or related disciplines, a lived experience of neurodivergence, and/or a strong professional or personal interest in autism and neurodiversity to apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Key tasks involve

• shadowing initial calls with candidates,
• supporting interested-based groups and workshops,
• aiding in creating materials for social groups,
• supporting workshops exploring topics important to participants,
• maintaining clear and accurate records of all project activity,
• engaging in ongoing learning around Autism, neurodiversity, and relevant tools and techniques that support participant progress. 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Flexible working hours to be discussed with individual's availability up to 20 hours per week.
