About Us:Building environmental responsibility and skills through UL clean‑ups




Description

University of Limerick students are invited to take part in ongoing community clean‑ups in local estates adjacent to the UL campus. Volunteers will help litter‑pick and maintain shared public spaces, supporting a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for local residents.

This is a flexible volunteering opportunity, with clean‑ups taking place regularly throughout the academic year. No previous experience is required, and all equipment, guidance, and safety briefings will be provided.

Students will gain valuable volunteering experience, develop teamwork and civic skills, and make a visible positive impact in the community close to campus.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

This is a flexible, ongoing volunteering opportunity.
Clean‑ups take place Monday to Thursday, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, throughout the academic year. Meeting Point: Main Entrance Schuman Building

Volunteers can sign up for sessions that suit their availability. There is no minimum weekly commitment, making it ideal for students balancing studies and other commitments.

All cleaning equipment is provided.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Clean‑ups take place Monday to Thursday, 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
No additional screening is required for this role. Volunteers need only a positive attitude, motivation, and a care for the environment.
