Restaurant Server (3-4 Hours)

Cranmore Community Co-operative Society Ltd ‘the Co-op’, is a Community Development and Youth Charity, located in Cranmore, Sligo Town.

We are looking for volunteer servers and kitchen helpers to work alongside our Floor Manager and Chef to provide a family meal evening on Thursdays to the community in our community workshop and garden. There will be two seatings per evening with approximately 60 meals served.

The aim of the weekly event is to provide a space for families to share dinner together in a child friendly community environment, that is affordable for all.

Overview of the role:
Volunteer servers will be asked to assist the Floor Manager with setting up and cleaning the serving area as well as greeting our guests and providing food and beverages to their tables. The Floor Manager will direct the servers to perform necessary tasks and to help facilitate an enjoyable dining experience for children and their families.

Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Completing tasks assigned by the Floor Manager
  • Always following safety and hygiene regulations
  • Preparing restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Attending to customers upon entrance
  • Presenting restaurant menus and taking and serving orders
  • Collaborating with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
  • Dealing with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

    Kitchen Helpers will be assisting with dishes and kitchen prep!


Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hours p/week
