Volunteer Opportunity: Science & Engineering Content Creator

The Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking enthusiastic and creative students to join as Volunteer Content Creators. This is an exciting opportunity for current students to play an active role in promoting the faculty, showcasing student life, and engaging prospective students through digital media.

Role Overview
As a Science and Engineering Content Creator, you will work on behalf of the Faculty to develop engaging and informative content, primarily for social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. This role offers a unique chance to combine your interest in science and engineering with creativity and digital storytelling.

Time Commitment

  • Maximum of 10 hours per semester, offering flexibility to balance alongside academic commitments

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a current student within the Faculty of Science and Engineering
  • Interest in social media, content creation, and promoting student experiences
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

  • Experience with social media platforms (especially Instagram and TikTok)
  • Basic video editing or content creation skills

  • This role is open to both individuals and groups
  • If applying as a group, each member must complete a separate registration


Is training provided?:Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Create and produce short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok
  • Contribute ideas for social media campaigns that highlight student life, courses, and opportunities within the Faculty
  • Assist as a Faculty volunteer during key events, including Open Days (October and January) and other events throughout the academic year
  • Represent the Faculty in a positive and professional manner across all activities

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Flexible to work around student timetables.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
