Volunteering is at the heart of the DCU experience. We are known as ‘the engaged university’, and every year, our students put this idea into action through volunteering and engagement, both on and off campus. As a DCU student, you will find there are many different ways to volunteer including: contributing your time and skills to DCU’s many clubs and societies, immersing yourself in university life through events like Culture Night and campus clean-ups, and giving back through volunteering for community and social projects off campus.
Our students are change-makers and champions for just causes. Through volunteering, they make a difference to the world around them, give back to their community, and enjoy new social and intercultural experiences. The volunteering experience also benefits those volunteers themselves, building friendships, developing important skills, and boosting health and wellbeing.
DCU facilitates and celebrates student volunteering of all kinds. DCU Volunteer, The Office of Student Life and DCU Students’ Union offer a range of supports and guidance to students who want to get involved in volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs). Students are acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts through initiatives such as the President’s Awards for Engagement and the Uaneen Awards.
StudentVolunteer.ie enables students to have the opportunity to: enrich your personal development and employability skills, have a fun experience, meet new people, and give back to your community. Login now.
