Our three social enterprises are open to working with committed student volunteers who are interested in working in our enterprises across the city alongside our staff with intellectual disabilities.

 

We have a particular interest for volunteers to work alongside our Head Chef in our production kitchen based on Sandy Road supporting the cooking and baking required while working alongside our supported staff to keep them in employment!

Cafe Link Ballybane is our new enterprise opening June 2026 where we will be providing a local community hub to Ballybane but also operating a training cafe offering work experience to trainees with intellectual disabilities!

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

We are extremely interested to work with volunteers who share our passion!

The role, location dependant, consists of;

-Assisting staff with disabilities in baking and cooking

-Empower our staff to complete the work themselves while being present in the moment to support them while making a new friend!

-Help our wider team to cook, bake, our assist customers in our cafes

-Our focus is our supported staff while also operating our social enterprise model to keep them in paid employment

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Our enterprises operate mid week. Our Catering Service is typically staffed Monday to Friday 7am-3pm while our cafes are 8am-4.30pm also mid week

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hours p/week

Additional screening required for this role::
One reference required with Garda vetting along with an informal interview with a member of our management team
